BOX OFFICE

As you will be aware, the online EMF was meant to follow the course of the physical Festival, with events only taking place at the time that the real EMF concerts and talks would have been held. However, we realised it wasn’t entirely fair and reasonable to expect our numerous audience members in America and Australasia to watch concerts at 3a.m!; – furthermore, we know that some of our audience members have missed events they would like to see.

Therefore – and also because of extra demand – we have decided to run the events again from 9.00a.m. (BST) on Tuesday 26th May until 11.00p.m. (BST) on Friday 29th May. This means that, if you joined us for some events and wished you had seen more, you will have the chance to do so; or, if you missed the online Festival entirely, you may now book tickets to enjoy the events we staged! Tickets may be purchased using the form below.

The process of viewing the events online is simple: once your ticket sale has been processed, we will email you with a link which you simply need to click on, or paste into your browser, to be taken to our channel’s page on YouTube. Then you can choose the relevant video(s) from the various thumbnails that appear there and watch it at your leisure any time between Tuesday morning and Friday evening.

All purchases made through this website are securely processed using PayPal. At no stage during the transaction are bank or credit card details made available for viewing by The English Music Festival. Ticket purchases are subject to our Booking Conditions.

Finally, to remind you that all the EM Records recordings that are featured in our concert presentations are available from www.em-records.com.

LATEST NEWS

Because of high demand – and mindful also of the numerous audience members who live in time-zones far removed from that of the UK! – we have decided to run the events in our Online Festival again from 9a.m. on Tuesday 26th May until 11p.m. on Friday 29th May. This means that, if you joined us for some events and wished you had seen more, you will have the chance to do so; or, if you missed the online Festival entirely, you may now book tickets to enjoy the events we staged! Tickets may be purchased from our online Box Office.

Thank you to all who made the 2020 Johannesburg EMF such a success: to those at Brenthurst Gardens, Glenshiel and St George’s Church for their warm hospitality and invaluable help; to the artists, for their outstanding performances of some wonderful music; to the volunteers who staffed the Box Office, undertook Front-of-House duties, and served refreshments; and, of course, to the audience members for supporting the weekend’s events.

We are currently in discussion regarding possibilities for the 2021 Johannesburg EMF. If you would like to support us and help make this a reality, please do consider joining the South African EMF Friends’ Scheme. Your contribution will be most warmly appreciated. If you would like to be kept informed of the Festival’s return to South Africa, please email the Festival Director, Em Marshall-Luck, at em.marshall-luck@englishmusicfestival.org.uk to be added to our Johannesburg EMF mailing list.

If you would like more details about our Friends’ Scheme, please follow this link to our ‘Friends’ Scheme’ page for a description of the tiers and their benefits, together with information about how to join.

Our recording arm, EM Records, has released a number of exciting new recordings, including a triple-disc set of Parry’s complete works for violin and piano and a disc of searingly beautiful choral works by Paul Carr and others. Please visit the EM Records website for full details of these and others!
