British Composer Societies

The EMF has launched a new initiative for British Composer Societies and their members.

The Society Scheme offers Societies free and discounted advertisements in EMF publications, an on-line events calendar, and opportunites to contact and update their membership through an e-bulletin run by the EMF. The EMF bi-monthly e-bulletin is a forum for those associated with English music, containing details of composer societies, news and notices of forthcoming events, submitted by these societies, to be shared with a wider audience.

All British composer societies are being invited to join the scheme, for an annual subscription of £40 to cover administration costs. Upon joining, societies will be able to disseminate information (both their own news and any important composer-related events that the society wishes to publicise) through the bi-monthly e-bulletin, as well as recruit new members, and add details of concerts to our online events calendar (accessed on this page). Keeping information updated on the concerts page will also help to reduce the number of concerts and related events taking place on the same day (an all-too frequent occurrence!) which as we all know can reduce audience numbers.

Any Society wishing to join this Scheme should contact Em, and any member of a Society signed up to the scheme who wishes to receive the e-bulletin should also contact Em.
